Words, Trucks & Animals

Grace's list of words is getting ridiculously long... She is such a little sponge, She now sits in her crib each morning and tells her Teddys stories. It used to be babbling and cooing and singing, now it's "Hi!" and "Kiss" as she kisses them good morning and then she starts... "OK... Teddy up! Down!" (morning calisthenics) Then, "Teddy, Who's this? Annie! OK... Go! Hi... OK...Kiss...Truck... Hi Truck!... Teddy blanket...Grace blanket" Then you hear a few "Muuahs!' as she kisses her one Teddy then the other, then Annie (Raggedy Ann) then Teddy and Annie kiss... or the two Teddys kiss... so on and so forth it is so cute to listen to, and a nice way to wake up in the morning.

Grace is still so fascinated by the Trucks and commotion over our back fence. She could stand on the couch and look out the window at the goings on all day. She says "hi" and "bye" as they drive past and has started to point out trucks from her car seat as we drive by construction sites. There is not as much heavy machinery back there now that they have begun to lay pipe and prep for the schools foundation; But when the big earth movers were there grading the site... Grace was in 7th Heaven!

Ever the little scholar Grace has also added to her list of animal sounds. She has finally grasped that Cats say 'Meow' even if Sami says 'Hisssss!' She is fascinated by Sami lately and calls her to join in the bubble popping at meal times. The reward for eating has gone from blowing bubble so that Grace can pop them to blowing bubbles so that Sami can pop them. In between bites Grace calls "Sam! Sami! Sam!" and squeals with delight when the cat comes running.

On an unrelated note...
Grace is not the biggest fan of the new gate across the living room. She is fine with it if Brian and I are in there with her, but the moment we leave, even if she can see us... not a happy camper. But is has only been less than 24 hours, so we shall see how it goes. As for Brian and I... We Love it!
